These works are part of an ongoing exploration into embodied art making.

Our bodies are not neutral or separate from our social and cultural contexts, but carry the imprint of our socialisation and upbringing. Through large scale painting I continue to explore how gender and class influences my relationship to space, visibility and containment.

This exploration is underpinned by the concept of embodied habitus – a theory that suggests our socialization and cultural experiences are embedded in our physical movements, gestures, and postures. Through this lens, the presence of the body in art carries profound social and cultural meaning.
