“You sure you haven’t got a name?” “I lost it. I forgot it. I was a Rat”
Phillip Pullman
We are continually surrounded by an unseen maze of pipes—a hidden infrastructure that connects and controls, carrying water, waste, power.
This body of work explores the tangled relationship between individual identity, and the vast machinery of social systems.I’m interested in how we move through these systems—social, structural, unconscious—and how they shape what is visible, valued, or discarded.
At the centre is RatGirl—lost in the disorienting maze, stitched together from what could be scavenged. She clings to the underside of systems: half-feral, marginalised, but defiantly alive.
She questions what connects us, what entangles us; Who is allowed to take up space—and who has to live in the walls.
